Welcome to the Gold Wing Touring Association Region J website.
If you like to ride with friends, then the GWTA is for you. As you click through our site you will learn more about who we are.
Although the name can be misleading, we are an ALL BRAND riding association. Many of our members do have Gold Wings but we most certainly enjoy riding with all types of motorcycles. It's the fun and comradery that is appealing.
We are often referred to as one big riding family spread across most of the U.S. and Canada.
It's reassuring to know that it does not matter if you ride in Ontario, or travel internationally; you have friends along the road. And as with any family they can help you when in need, or just to provide some friendly company on your trip.
At each local Chapter, your immediate motorcycling family, we practice safe riding with all kinds of information available. We have experienced members that take on the job of continuously informing, training and updating our membership on riding safety. To this end, we of course are a zero tolerance riding club. If you have had any alcohol or anything to impair your judgment, you don't ride.
Each Chapter and each Region plan several events throughout the year. During the winter some indoor activities are planned. Bike shows, dances and other events help keep the winter blues away. Although this year with the milder weather in southern Ontario, many of our members enjoyed a longer riding season. During the riding season we often start with Spring Warm Ups to keep your riding skills in tune. Poker Runs, Ice Cream Runs, Picnics, Colour Rides, day rides and long tours are just a few of the things we do throughout the season.
Consider this my invitation for you, to visit a Chapter and experience what we are all about. Chapters often have weekly coffee nights and a monthly breakfast. Check out the Region contact page of this site for a Chapter near you. If you do not find a Chapter in your area, please contact the Regional Director and perhaps we can start one!
Once you join the GWTA family, be prepared for lots of handshakes, hugs, riding and fun!
